For the month of June, the South Toowoomba Apex Club raised over 1000 blankets from donations from the community, club members and the club itself. The Club presented the donation to Derek Tuffield, CEO of Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Queensland branch on Monday, 20 July 2015. South Toowoomba Apex Club Media Director Sarah-Jane MacDonald said “this was the first time that the event had been run by the Club, but with such a support from the community for the event, the club is hoping to make it an annual event”.
“With this colder weather, the rush has been on” said CEO of Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Queensland branch, Derek Tuffield. With it feeling like the colder weather might be here to stay, the South Toowoomba Apex Club are sure that their donation will assist many disadvantaged people and families who are struggling through tough times this winter.
